MASSILLON – A significant renovation to Meadow Wind Health Care Center has made space for a new dialysis center on the city’s east side.

Recent building upgrades totaling approximately $1.5 million have been completed, paving the way for a six-bed dialysis center, which is part of the first phase of improvements at Meadow Wind.

The center hosted a Wednesday afternoon ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house for the community, as well as an avenue for new, prospective and existing patients.

“It’s our first time doing renovations in more than 20 years,” said Admissions Director Joanne Barley. “This is really nice and a quality boost (to our facility).”

In addition to the dialysis center, Meadow Wind, 300 23rd St. NE located just west of Home Depot, has transformed its main residential wing from single rooms to private suites, accommodating long-term clients. Dining and activities rooms were also upgraded during the building remodel, Barley said.

Mayor Kathy Catazaro-Perry attended Wednesday’s event and called the new atmosphere of Meadow Wind “wonderful and professional.”
