Rodeo, livestock auction, musical entertainment and carnival at tonight’s Wyandotte County Fair – Welcome to Wyandotte Daily!

A rodeo and a livestock auction are among the featured attractions on Friday night at the Wyandotte County Fair.

The fair also continues with live musical entertainment, a carnival, exhibits and food concessions. Tribute bands will play classic rock tonight.

Fair hours are 5 p.m. to midnight Friday, and carnival hours are 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The High Stakes Rodeo will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the Rodeo Arena. There is no additional charge to attend the rodeo.

The 4-H bucket calf parade and livestock auction is planned at 7 p.m. at the Show Barn.

On the Main Stage from 6:45 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. Friday will be classic rock tribute bands, including a Cheap Trick Tribute Band, Steve Miller Tribute Band and John Cougar Tribute Band.

The Shade Pavilion will feature two musical performances.

Ryan Manuel and the Getaway will perform from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Shade Pavilion at the fair. Based in Lawrence, Kansas, Manuel started performing in his hometown of Sedalia, Missouri, and plays throughout the Midwest. His albums include “Kansas” and “On the Run.” His single, “Sold,” was released in 2021.

“Sons of Sterling” will perform from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday at the Shade Pavilion at the fair.
The group performs Red Dirt music, a blend of outlaw country, Americana and southern rock, with an independent attitude.

There is no additional charge for the musical performances. Admission at the gate is $5 per person, with those 12 and younger free. The parking fee is $5.

There are additional charges for carnival rides. A wristband is $30 and individual ride tickets are $1 each, with varying amounts of tickets required for rides.

Friday will be Kansas City Kansas Community College night at the fair, with events presented by KC 102.1.

It will be a hot day at the fair, with the temperature predicted to top out at 98 degrees with a heat index of 104, according to the weather forecast. Temperatures should drop to about 90 by 8 p.m.

The Wyandotte County Fair is at 13700 Polfer Road, Kansas City, Kansas. Watch for signs helping with traffic flow to the fair.

The fair will continue from 2 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, July 16, with more musical performances scheduled all day, and a rodeo scheduled at night. The carnival will be from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
