UFC 275 also includes the women’s Flyweight championship showdown between Valentina Shevchenko (c) and Taila Santos, as well as the long-awaited Strawweight rematch between former 115-pound titleholders Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Zhang Weili. Round 1: Choi in white, Culibao in black. Slow feeling out process to start, and the crowd tires of it after a minute of inaction. Nothing really clean for another minute, until Culibao explodes forward with a left fist. Choi with a leg kick. Culibao gets a left head kick. Lefts from both men. Right hand in the pocket from Culibao and a left. Another left staggers Choi. He gets dropped! Up, bu dropped again. Choi hugs the waist and manages to recover. Now he’s up and firing like a madman. He lands a big elbow and backs up Culibao and now makes the Australian clinch in response.
10-9 Culibao
Round 2: Great counter right from Choi as Culibao attempted to come forward. Both men land in the pocket in a furious exchange. Choi’s bleeding out of his mouth now. Left from Choi, huge right from Culibao sends Choi ass over tits! Choi manages to recover again and keeps Culibao off of him by swinging back. Culibao with a half-speed head kick and Choi hits him back with a punch. Good right hand from Choi. Choi touches him with a head kick, but just off the end of the foot. Culibao with a thudding right hand. A Choi right hand stuns Culibao for a moment.
10-9 Culibao but a close round.
Round 3: Glancing head kick from Choi and a nice jab from Culibao. Culibao explodes into a right hand, pauses a beat and then gets a nice 1-2. Choi with a spinning backfist attempt, but that leads to a clinch. Culibao reverses off the links. Couple of knees and Choi reverses back. Takedown from Choi and he has the back. He gets both hooks in with about 90 seconds left. Body triangle. Culibao throwing elbows back as Choi fishes for the RNC. Choi gives it up to try and get in some strikes. Choi punches away at the end.

145 lbs.: Steve Garcia vs. Hayisaer Maheshate
Round 1: Maheshate in red (popular color tonight), Garcia in gray (also popular). Garcia starting aggressive. Both men eat right hands. Garcia gets dropped marching forward, and Maheshate follows him down, but Garcia immediately recovers and is a bit on top. Maheshate stands up and breaks away. Garcia coming forward again, DIRECTLY INTO A BIG COUNTER RIGHT HAND and Steve is out cold! Ref stops it before any follow up happens, but Maheshate seemed aware of the situation and had holstered his weapon, so to speak.
Final result: Maheshate def. Garcia KO 1:14 Round 1
185 lbs.: Brendan Allen vs. Jacob Malkoun
Round 1: Malkoun in black, Allen in red. Allen with a leg kick to open. 1-2-leg kick from Allen, but none land super clean. Right hand lands for Allen. Malkoun gets a left. And a jab. Allen responds with a right hand. 1-2 from Malkoun now. Jab and a leg kick from Malkoun. Malkoun gets a leg, gets the takedown… but can’t keep Allen down. Malkoun gets the back, grapevines his legs over Allen’s left leg and swings him back down. Allen rolls and stands. Malkoun’s got the back still. Big hip toss from Allen right into mount! Malkoun works to deep half and gets out of the mount, but Allen’s still on top in all these transitions. Guillotine attempt from Allen, but Malkoun gets to the opposite side and he’s out of danger. Allen gets up and the round ends.

Round 2: Pair of jabs from Malkoun, Allen responds with a right. Straight lead hands are working for Malkoun, even going on the back foot. Single-leg attempt from Malkoun. can’t get the trip, but Malkoun stays tight and gets it the second time. Half guard. Now full guard. Malkoun passes to the other side of half. Not much happening from Malkoun, and Allen is doing a decent job of throwing from the back. Not damaging, but a lot more quantity than Malkoun. Allen’s up, Allen’s down. There’s an elbow from Malkoun. Another one. Allen squirms to the cage and creates a scramble. He’s on top now, in side control. Allen not doing anything here for a minute. Gets in one forearm shiver, but the round ends.
10-9 Malkoun.
Round 3: Right hand and a takedown from Allen to open the third. Malkoun scrambles and gets out from underneath, but can’t hold onto Allen. Malkoun still having success with his jab. Allen with a shovel hook. Big single-leg takedown from Malkoun and he’s got the back. Took a minute, but Malkoun gets the takedown finally with an ankle pick. Elbow from the bottom from Allen. Allen builds his base and manages to reverse. He gets on top and lands some elbows. Malkoun regains full guard and has butterflies in. One minute left. Closed guard. Not much happening here. Malkoun tries a last second triangle and the round ends with Allen on top.

135 lbs.: Danaa Batgerel vs. Kyung Ho Kang
Round 1: Batgerel in red, Kang in gray. Jabs and hooks from both men early. Good low kick from Kang. Another. A third. Batgerel counters another with a right hand. Kang’s jab has been on point so far halfway through the round. There’s a right from Batgerel. Shovel hook lands as well. Batgerel has had a lot more success the last half of this round. Kang misses a spinning elbow. Batgerel gets a solid land with a hook to end the round.
10-9 Batgerel in a close round.
Round 2: Both men exchange leg kicks. Snapping jab from Kang. Misses a jumping knee. Gets in a nice counter left a few seconds later. Hammering calf kick lands from Kang. Kang tries for a takedown, but quickly abandons it. Kang paps the jab in. Batgerel lands a 3-2. 90 seconds left. Kang whiffs on a takedown and eats an illegal knee, but the ref misses it completely. Spinning backfist for Kang, but mostly lands from the forearm.

Round 3: Lovely check hook from Kang stuns Batgerel for a beat. Batgerel gets in a low kick and a counter left. Something heavy slapped, but I’m not sure who it was from or where it landed, if we’re being brutally honest. Heavy straight jab from Kang. Kang with a left-hand counter at the 3-minute mark. Batgerel shifts to his left, but directly into a right hook. Batgerel connects with a right. Smashing jab from Kang. Batgerel with a takedown attempt that fails.

Final result: Kang def. Batgerel 29-28 x3
115 lbs.: Silvana Gomez Juarez vs. Na Liang
Round 1: Na in red, Gomez Juarez in gray. I might add that buffer is resplendent in a shiny rust-orange blazer. Na with a front kick attempt and a big overhand, but both miss. Na dives in on an ankle and gets latches onto it, but Juarez gets out of it. Na slips on a big swing. They both land jabs. Na gets lazy with a jab and eats a HUGE right hand. Follow up right, left and another left and Na is out cold.
Final result: Gomez Juarez def. Na KO 1:22 round 1
145 lbs.: Joselyne Edwards vs. Ramona Pascual
Round 1: Edwards in red and white, Pascual in black and gray. Edwards opens up on the front foot, swinging, but missing short on everything as Pascual is on her bike. There’s a good exchange and Edwards gets in a couple in that flurry. Right left right from Edwards, but nothing lands. Both women connect with right hands. They clinch up against the fence, and Edwards gets out of it. Push kicks from Edwards in repeated succession. Pascual catches one and gets in a knee and a hook. One minute to go. Takedown attempt from Edwards, gets stuffed. Pascual with a big knee and a liver kick and all of a sudden she’s got Edwards hurt. Edwards is now the wrestler, trying to keep Pascual from unloading on her. Head kick from Pascual.
10-9 Pascual
Round 2: Pascual grabs a clinch and starts burying knees to the midsection. Edwards with a right hand. Edwards seems a bit slower than she did in the first round, in no small part from all the strikes she ate. Pascual with a nice left. Not much happening this round aside from Edwards spamming front and oblique kicks. Pascual hits a takedown as the clapper sounds but can’t do anything with it before the bell.
10-9 Pascual
Round 3: Pascual goes for a takedown and nearly gets it, but Edwards gets out of it at the last second. Edwards hits an uppercut as Pascual shoots a takedown. Edwards circles out of it and gets in a solid left. Jumping switch kick from Edwards. Heavy leg kick from Pascual. Edwards tries a flurry, but misses. Edwards with a pair of solid body kicks and then a head kick. Pascual fails on another TD attempt. Spinning backfist from Edwards. She’s doing well, but is running out of time here.

Final result: Edwards def. Pascual 30-27, 29-28 x2
